About Us
We desire to help you connect with nature in meaningful ways.

At our core, we are nature enthusiasts and passionate artisans, driven by a deep appreciation for the beauty
and serenity that the natural world offers.
We have a deep appreciation for the environment &
love finding whimsical pieces of art created by nature. Through this we have been inspired to combine creativity with the organic elements that surround us.
From the delicate petals of a flower or leaves of a woodland fern to the rugged textures of wood and
rustic colors of stone, we believe that nature
is the ultimate canvas.
Through our workshops, presentations and garden consulting, we aim to share this love for nature and crafting with others, fostering a sense of joy,
connection, and creativity.
We believe that everyone has an inner artist, and our mission is to guide you in uncovering it—whether through the creation of a unique living succulent planter, a stunning floral arrangement,
or a handmade piece that tells your story.
By blending the natural world with artisan crafting,
we hope to inspire others to see the beauty in both creativity and nature, and to bring more of both
into your everyday lives.

Co-founder:
Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve

Melinda recently
retired from serving
25 years as
Executive Director of
Beech Creek Gardens.
Melinda gained her plant knowledge and artisan crafting skills during her 31-years of co-ownership of an Herb Farm. Here
she helped to grow over 2,000 varieties of perennials, herbs
and ornamental flowers and plants. Growing and learning
about the behaviors of thousands of different herbaceous plant species, their characteristics and growth habits including native Ohio plants equipped her to help herb farm customers with garden design and plant purchases to meet their specific needs.
During the early years of the herb farm, diversification was key, and she began creating floral designs, wreaths and weaving baskets. This soon evolved into teaching workshops so that others could also enjoy crafting. She quickly realized that she loved teaching others and especially enjoyed witnessing the joy and satisfaction of class attendees when they realized the success of their finished project.
Soon, it was only natural to combine her floral design skills with her knowledge of plants to begin designing gardens. Over the years Melinda has designed gardens for Beech Creek Botanical Garden, private estates, individuals and numerous community gardening projects including vegetable, native & pollinator gardens.
Melinda has a passion for educating others about the vital role and connection that nature and the health of our environment has on our quality of life. This passion became the driving force to start her journey to help develop the non-profit organization Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve.
During her 25 years as Executive Director of Beech Creek Botanical Garden, Melinda has been a successful event coordinator, exhibit and program developer, grant writer, interpretive sign designer and so much more. For years,
she worked closely with the board of trustees to follow their strategic plan and move the organization forward.
She has co-authored the book “Native Plants of Ohio”.
Over 20,000 copies have been distributed throughout the State.
She authored & designed an educational booklet “The Backyard Green Guardian”. This booklet shares ideas about managing your yard and garden more sustainably.
For 12 years she served as Project Director for an Urban Youth Community Garden program. This program worked with at-risk teens to grow organic vegetables and foods while learning about horticulture, plant and environment science, nutrition, and art. Participating teens were mentored through this program to foster a good work ethic, improve self-esteem, citizenship, and leadership.
Now semi-retired, Melinda is focusing on helping to design gardens, garden consulting, teaching through presentations and helping others to connect with nature through art and hands-on workshops.
